Current Summer Skincare Routine !

Hello Everyone ,
Greetings :)
I’m back here again sharing with you my current Summer Skincare routine.

If you know me I have a very sensitive moody skin and when it comes to Summer times especially of those here in Hyderabad, I land up having flares and breakouts.
So, I switch to the products apt for combination to oily skincare products from the Brands I love and Trust the Most.

For Sensitive skin like mine, Vichy and La-roche posay have been saviors since years.
Good news is that these are now easily available in market & at convenience online too.
So, I’ll be dividing this Summer skincare into two parts, ofcourse
·         Morning skincare routine
·         Nightime routine

Morning & daytime routine

1)VICHY NORMADERM DEEP CLEANSING PURIFYING GEL

-I use this every morning throughout summers and even monsoons.
-Suitable for Sensitive skin, oily to combination skin.
-retails for 590/- for 100ml (some may find it costly but trust me,its worth every penny if you have a sensitive troublesome skin that needs thorough cleansing without making skin very dry and irritable.
-Effectively cleans up my skin, leaving no Dry or stretchy feeling that often is faced by people with sensitive skin.
-I personally suggest not to use this particular Facewash if you have really Dry skin,in that case you can opt for Vichy Purete thermale fresh cleansing gel which is Perfect for my summer combination skin which becomes dry in winters.
-it’s a gel formulation, lathers well, helps keep acne at bay.

-Everytime you use it, aviod using it near eye area.
-and who doesn’t Love the fact that it’s Paraben-free!!!
-Impressive ingredient list.

-Over time, breakouts & flares on my face subside and my Skin texture improves.
-I don’t use face scrubs in my daytime routine coz’ it definitely leaves my skin red and uncomfortable, scrubbing my skin twice a week nightime is my way.

2) VICHY THERMAL SPRING WATER

-Oh my my!! I always fall short of praising this product.
-A Savior for my ultra sensitive skin.
-Since the day I have known this product, I haven't used any other toner in my CTM routine.
-I use it religiously every single day, morning and night and sometimes between the hectic days at work.
-Just couple of sprays all over your face and you’re skin is all Refreshed, protected and prepped.
-it gives that Instant boost of life to your dull & tired skin.
-Brand claims that this is  Recognized for its medical properties in favoring cellular exchange and in stimulating the skin's defense mechanism, it is also used in dermatology to strengthen the skin's tolerance and soothe irritations. And yes!! It totally Does what it says.

-I witness instant soothing effect on my irritated skin right after spraying it over my face.
-it Decongests, soothes irritated sensitive skin and reinforces natural skin protection.
-Everytime I use this,I get that satisfactory feeling that I’ve applied some protective shield over my sensitive, irritable skin that’s prone to flares, redness, itchiness and ofcourse Acne during summers.
-This spray comes in 2 different sizes, I prefer the 50ml size which can easily sneak into my handbag and can be used SOS
- I have even used it over my arms and legs that get itchy rashes right after waxing and TaDa!!! Its Magic!!
-my skin has improved a lot. my skin's resistance has developed overtime.

-A 5 STAR PRODUCT that I ever included in my skincare routine. Highly Recommended!!
-This is an Anti- Imperfections ,Anti- Marks cream with corrective unclogging properties.

-it’s a Fresh gel-cream, provides 24hr hydration and has long lasting mattifying action. Absorbs quickly for a non-sticky, non-oily finish.

gets easily absorbed.

-if you check the ingredient list, you’ll be amazed to see some interesting combinations.

Even my sister swears by the Effaclar range which helped her copeup with Teenage cystic acne.
- It can be used as a moisturizer during day or as a spot treatment during night to control acne formation, lighten blemishes and reduce redness.
-Be  careful while applying it on areas near mouth or under chin as it can a little too drying and can cause skin to peel off if applied in excess.
-Non-comedogenic, Paraben –free  and even Nickel tested.
-not to forget!!! It works as an Excellent Makeup base.

-last step of my skincare is the step I cant dare to Forget!!! The moment I step out in sun woithout my sunscreen, my skin turns red & flares up. Yes!! That’s the plight of having ultra sensitive, photo sensitive skin L
-when it comes to Sunscreen I keep myself limited to only the brands I have loved over years on my sneitive skin. This includes my favorites like* Vichy Ira Soleil spf 50 mattifying face fluid or the ira soleil capital hydra mist and ofcourse *loroche- posay anthelios xl
-it is a very high protection sunscreen with spf 50 &Ultra UVA (PPD 31)
-most of the sunscreens land up making my skin sweat a lot and later lead to breakouts but this never Failed to impress my skin.
-Indicated for-
-          Sensitive skin to skin prone to sun intolerance, commonly known as sun allergies.
-          Extreme sunshine intensity.

Right after application.

-Perfect for Lavish beach trips and ofcourse fun-filled swimming times.
-if I stay in sun for longer duration, I reapply it after approx 3hours.
-this retails for 1500/- for 50ml ( I know it looks pricey but with the benefits it delivers,it’s all worth!!
-ive been using this over past 3 years and I never felt the need to try any new brand other than the ones I mentioned earlier.if this tube stays in my Dresser , other lies happily in my bag so it happens at times that I start my day with Anthelios and on the later part of the day, I land up applying Vichy ira soleil coz’ that was what I had in my bag :P *facepalm*
-Being a family practitioner, I have Proudly recommended the above mentioned  to many of my patients coz’ I can’t suggest some product unless I know it works and stays up to its promises.

So, finally the

NIGHTIME SUMMER SKINCARE ROUTINE for Sensitive combination skin :
  • -          Step1)

I use the same Normaderm cleansing gel. Since I’m not much of makeup loving girl, I don’t  do double cleansing often but yes, removing my kohl is what I don’t forget.
  • -          Step 2) Followed by Scrub (only twice a week)

o   I use Vichy  Normaderm 3 in 1 mask,scrub & cleanser.
o   Normaderm range is the one I have loved since the days of my teenage acne and I still have them in my dresser for the times when weather and hormones play games with my skin :P
  • -          Step 3) I evenly spray  Vichy / la roche posay thermal spring water all over my face and wait for couple of minutes.
  • -          Step 4) I use the la roche-posay effaclar duo(+) at night like a Spot treatment and on the days when I feel like giving some extra care, I apply VICHY NORMADERM NIGHT CREAM all over my face followed by effaclar duo on spots.

*Its an Anti-imperfection,rejuvenating night cream apt for sensitive, oily skin.
*contains Vitamin C and has active ‘peeling’ ingredients too.
*fresh citrusy smell, non greasy formulation that gets easily absorbed.

*my Normaderm night cream I all about to finish and I haven't found this recently on the counters so,lately Effaclar duo(+) is my  only Skin Savior.

So, folks that was all I had to share about my Summer skincare routine.

Yes! Yes!! I did forget to mention, there are times when despite all measures , my photo-sensitive skin gets tanned and irritated and those are the times I apply Aloe vera gel (cooled in refrigerator) for that Ultra soothing experience.
